Attend Workshop(s) and WOW-E Pre/Post Session

Attend a pre-session breakfast and post-session lunch before the workshop to learn about the WOW-E program and what WOW-E can do for your community. Attendance at the breakfast is required to be eligible for the workshop and further technical assistance. More information will be available closer to the time of the workshop.

NOTE: If you are already part of a WOW-E Community, you will attend the breakfast and/or lunch to share your experience with new communities.

Build Local Teams and Partnerships

Build on your efforts you started at the workshop(s). Meet with you partners and start thinking about what you want to apply for with Community Challenge.

New Communities: If your community isn’t already a WOW-E Community, find six organizations in your community to commit to engaging in WOW-E activities by signing a WOW-E proclamation. This must be complete to be eligible for the 2025 Community Challenge. Please use this template for the proclamation.

Additionally, to be eligible for the 2025 Community Challenge, your community will host a local WOW-E kickoff which is a two to two and a half hour meeting with a group of local advocates and leaders where they map their food and physical activity environment, complete a partnership matrix, and identify opportunities to improve the local food and physical activity environment. A WOW-E team member will attend to co-facilitate with your local advocates and leaders. More information about this will be covered at the workshop you attend.
