What is WoW-E?
Working on Wellness Environments (WoW-E) is a collaborative approach promoting increased physical activity levels and improved access to healthy foods. This project prioritizes local solutions and transformative change to health-related challenges in Texas communities.
Made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Our goal is to
- Enhance healthier food access and sales
- Establish health nutrition and physical activity standards in community places
- Improve state and local programs/systems to increase access to healthier foods and physical activity
- Implement efforts to establish new or improved active transportation
Set of guidelines to support environment and behavioral changes
Clearly defined interaction between partners to further interrelated community change

WOW-E Community Challenge
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Working on Wellness Environments program is hosting the WOW-E Community Challenge, an initiative to jump-start community efforts utilizing policy, system, and environmental changes.
