What is WOW-E?

WOW-E team members provide local capacity building programs and evidence-based technical assistance.

Community leaders, organizations, and practitioners work together to assess, plan, and implement relevant and feasible Policy, System, and Environment efforts with local stakeholders.

Made possible in part with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Our goal is to support communities ready to

  • Enhance healthier food access and sales
  • Establish nutrition, physical activity, and planning policies in community places
  • Improve regional and local systems to increase access to healthier foods and places for physical activity
  • Develop plans to establish new or improved active transportation (walking, biking)

Policy

Set of guidelines to support environment and behavioral changes

Systems

Clearly defined interaction between partners to further interrelated community change

Environment
